How to Get Rid of Stretch Marks Fast

But we need to know How to Get Rid of Stretch Marks Fast. Because a lot of people let stretch marks. Marks affect their confidence levels or their emotional state of mind. And somehow you feel that the look is not so good. Your skin should be flawless. And here are some stretch marks.

Many people, are very much concerned about it and you don't like to have that and you should do something about it. The skin should look smooth and flawless.

So let's understand how to go about it. Stretch marks are caused when your skin undergoes a rapid change in shape. Such sudden changes in the dermis can cause the dermis to crack and that develops bands of parallel baths, which commonly are called stretch marks.

Let us know, what science says about it.

Stretch marks are basically lesions or damaged marks on your body. Normally it appears in places that have slightly higher fat percentages. So that your chest area, your abdomen area, your thighs, and your buttocks, start off with a red or purple color and then transition into a white color.

Now, while it's in a red or purple form, stretch marks are treatable. It doesn't mean that once it turns white it can't be treated.

The Epidermis Dermis Hypodermis
Primary Layers

In this post, we're going to cover all the kinds of possibilities when it comes to stretch marks.

So, firstly we have to understand the science behind stretch marks. Keep in mind, that every single human being is prone to getting stretch marks.

And that's why from a prevention perspective, you need to know the detailed science about stretch marks. So let's get straight into it.

So first we've got to understand the structure of the skin. It's got three primary layers the epidermis, the dermis, and the hypodermis.

The Epidermis is the outer layer of your skin and its main job is protection from the external world. The hypodermis is the innermost layer that is responsible for insulation because it also contains the fat layer. But the middle layer is the dermis where this problem of stretch marks arises.

Now, To your skin, the main function of the dermis is giving structure. By structure, there are two important factors to talk these are pliability and elasticity.

Pliability means the ability of your skin to stretch, and elasticity means the ability of your skin to retain its original shape.

So if I pull my skin up, when it goes back down, pliability and elasticity are coming into place. And it's coming into place through the dermis which is the main function of the dermis. Stretch marks occur in the dermis.

Why do stretch marks happen in the first place?

Stretch Marks Happen In The First Place

To answer that question, you've got to understand the term fibroblast. Because it is a type of cell in the human body that is an origin cell for the connective tissue in the body.

Primarily, we're talking about the connective tissues, collagen, and elastin fibers. Collagen and elastin fibers help in giving structure, elasticity, the pliability to your skin.

But they originate from fibroblasts so you can think of fibroblasts as some kind of currency for connective tissue.

Say, suppose you have $100 and you can buy $200 chewing gums with those $100.

Similarly, if you have 100 fibroblasts, they'll give rise to 200 units of collagen or 200 units of elastin fibers.

Now, stretch marks affect some people more than they affect other people. This is the primary reason those people have a lesser degree of collagen and elastin fibers.

And that also means that they have a lesser degree of fibroblast in their body. So, the real reason to stretch marks is your body produces fewer fibroblasts. Fewer fibroblasts mean more stretch marks.

What causes these fewer fibroblasts?

Fewer Fibroblasts

There are two primary reasons. The first reason is genetically prone to having fewer fibroblasts than normal fibroblasts.

Some people face this genetically which means they're also prone to having more stretch marks. But the second most common reason is stress.

When you're stressed, be it mental stress or even something like physical stress, through over-exercising, your body produces more of a hormone called cortisol, which is the stress hormone.

It's produced by your adrenaline gland when you're in a fight or flight situation. So when a dog is chasing you, that's a fight-of-life situation.

Your body is going to react to that external situation by increasing its level of cortisone. But it also applies to situations where you're stressed with your studies, work, or life.

Your body elevates its own cortisone levels. And even if you're over-exercising, if you're putting your body through too much exercise more than you should be putting it through, that's when your cortisone levels get elevated.

The formation of fibroblasts is affected by a higher degree of cortisol. And lesser fibroblasts mean lesser collagen and elastin fibers, which means most stretch marks.

Why do stretch marks happen?

The answer is that you're stretching your skin and another cause there are fewer collagen and elastin fibers. When someone stretches the skin, it ends up getting damaged instead of coming back into place.

Stretching during Pregnancy

Firstly, we're talking about rapid weight change. That's a rapid gain in weight or rapid loss in weight.

Usually, your skin gets stretched more than expected when you gain weight very fast, and because then it can't retain its original shape.

In the process, the dermis gets damaged, which is the cause of to rising of stretch marks.

Now let you be someone who is overweight and trying to lose weight extremely rapidly, once again that rapid weight loss elevates your cortisol levels.

Your skin can't keep up with rapid weight change and it will make your skin more prone to stretch marks.  Again, that's what causes stretch marks. But there are other immediate reasons.

Now, we're talking about pregnancy, obviously, where your stomach kind of becomes much bigger than it's used to being.

And cortisol levels are elevated during pregnancy, so it gives rise to stretch marks in pregnant women, but we're also talking about adolescence, your teenage, especially in young girls, but also in a lot of guys who are going through a growth spurt.

Their muscles and bones grow very big and the skin can't keep up with that growth of muscle and bone. This is the way, that will help you to end up getting stretch marks in your teenage.

There are also medical conditions where you get stretch marks. Cushing's Syndrome, Marfan Syndrome, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and Adrenal Gland Disorders, are the medical conditions to stretch marks.

But some medicines can make you more prone to stretch marks, primarily corticosteroid creams or even oral steroids or systemic steroids that are injectable steroids.

So, in simple words, stretch marks are a conspicuously common issue, and now we are talking about the treatment when it comes to stretch marks.
